Week 8: Accomplishments

Week 8 (4/23-4/29) theme for Art as the Message

As of 4/29 At the end of this week, the current administration will have been in office 100 days. Since the days of FDR, the first 100 days of the presidency has been seen as a barometer for how well he will govern. Will President Trump receive high marks?

According to the Washington Post, he has signed 28 bills into law; issued 24 executive orders, 22 presidential memorandums and 20 proclamation; nominated the newest associate justice to the Supreme Court; and launched an attack on Syria. This week he will get funding for the border wall or shut the government down.

As citizens, we have come together and accomplished a lot as well. We have become more active in our political system, writing, emailing, and calling our representatives. We have marched for women’s rights, marched to reinforce the necessity of the scientific method as a basis for good decision making, and will have marched to bring attention to “climate change.”

Margaret Mead stated, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”

This week, share your accomplishments in making this country a better place because of or in spite of the current administration.
