Week 11-12 (5/14-5/27) theme for Art as the Message

In February, Trump’s AG, Jeff Sessions, reversed the Department of Justice’s plan to phase out the government’s use of private prisons.

This week, Sessions sent a memo to all federal prosecutors instructing them to fill the empty beds in private prisons by pursuing the “most serious, readily provable offense” for their cases. Many of these offenses carry mandatory minimums.

Once again it is time to speak out against the Prison-Industrial complex and the inherent racism built into our “justice” system.
